I was pleased to have a paper accepted at The Asian Conference on Cultural Studies in Tokyo (May 23rd - May 27th). I was supported by both the Department of Design and Production and also through the School of Culture and Communication Conference Funding round.
The paper was titled Hong Kong’s Visual Citizenship: The Depiction of Sadness and Despair in the 2019 Protests. I was excited to meet practicing artists and scholars working across the region in media and communication, social studies and the arts.
